WTC ABUJA STRENGTHENS DIGITALIZATION

WTC Abuja had the honor of organizing an interactive session on the power of creativity and how to improve collaboration and bilateral trade relations between China and Nigeria on the digital economy.

WTC Abuja Trade Service Manager, Ms. Wuraola Onigbogi, facilitated a B2G Networking Event between several Nigerian digital experts and the Chinese Embassy to enhance market research on the Digital Economy with the aim of influencing trade and ensuring that trade bottlenecks between Nigeria and China are erased within the digital sector.

The well-attended session had representatives from the Chinese Embassy, China Trade, and Investment Office, China Harbour Engineering Company, Huawei, CCGZ, Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and top digital experts from the Fintech, E-Commerce, E-Learning sectors.

Mr. Allen Xijia ZHANG, the Commercial secretary of the Chinese Embassy stated that “it is a known fact that WTC Abuja has become a popular landmark in Abuja and it will definitely serve as a gravity center to breeding Nigerian talent in the Digital Economy. 

Collaboration between China and the members of the Nigerian Digital Economy has begun and it is important to find a way forward to further improve the existing business relationship between China and Nigeria”.

He also pronounced that the Nigerian Digital Economy is growing rapidly and that China has plans plan on introducing programs to help develop the sector in Africa, such as Digital Innovation Programs and the China-Africa Lab for the digital economy, which will focus on e-commerce and e-business of African products.

Mr. Alex Shui, Secretary of the CGCC gave a brief introduction to the China General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC) and the China Trade and Investment Promotion Office, which was founded to enhance the cooperation and communication of its services while generating value trade bonds, services, and resources. 

With the existing connection, CGCC and China TIPC seek interest in collaborating with Nigeria using the WTC Abuja platform.
